How do I cancel my special offer?

You have signed up for a promotional offer on adopte and would like to know how to cancel your subscription.

From our iPhone app

If you signed up for your adopte special offer via the App Store, follow the instructions below to cancel the automatic renewal:

  1. Quit the adopte app and open the Settings app
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen (you may be asked to sign in or authenticate using Touch ID or Face ID)
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. From the list, tap your adopte subscription
    Important: If you don't see your subscription in the list, make sure you're signed in with the correct Apple account (click here)
  5. Tap the "Cancel Subscription" button at the bottom of the screen

From our Android app

If you signed up for your adopte special offer via Google Play, follow the instructions below to cancel the automatic renewal:

  1. Exit the adopte app and open the Google Play app
  2. Tap your profile icon (or your initial) in the top right corner, next to the notification bell
  3. Tap "Payments and subscriptions," then "Subscriptions."
  4. From the list, tap your adopte subscription
    Important: If you can't find your subscription in the list, make sure you're signed in to the right Google Play account (click here)
  5. Tap the "Cancel subscription" button (located at the bottom right of the “Pause Payments” button)
    Please note: if you want to cancel your subscription and not just pause it, tap the "No, thanks" button at the bottom left of the dialog box that appears, titled "Would you like to pause your subscription?"
  6. Select a reason for your cancellation from the options provided, then tap the "Continue" button
  7. Tap "Cancel subscription"

If you signed up for your adopte special offer using a credit card or PayPal, even if you are using our iPhone or Android app, you will need to follow the steps below to unsubscribe via our website:

  1. Log in to your account on adopte.app
  2. Click on the three dots " " in the top right corner of the navigation bar, from any page on the site
  3. Click on "account" in the menu that appears
  4. Then click on the "DEACTIVATION" section
  5. Check the box that says "I cancel the automatic renewal of my subscription," then click on the "YES" button
    Please note: deactivating your account (by checking the box "I am deactivating my account") does not cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription.
  6. The message "The automatic renewal of my subscription has been canceled on xx/xx/xx" will appear, and a confirmation email will be sent to your personal email address.
